Why transferred files expire
Files you send from your phone to Chrome expire automatically after 24 hours. That is a deliberate part of the design — here is what it means for you.
The 24-hour window
Every transferred file expires automatically 24 hours after you send it. Download the file to your computer before the window closes — after that, it is gone. The expiry applies to files; text you send with Text Bridge is not subject to it.
Why files expire
Temporary File Transfer is designed for quick transfer, not permanent storage. Files move through a secure server round trip to your connected browser, and temporary files are securely deleted automatically — no lingering data, no cloud storage needed. Your permanent things — links, notes, collections — live in your vault, which does not expire.
What “expired” means
An expired file is no longer available to open or download in the Chrome extension. Nothing is stored on the computer’s account — the extension pairs with your phone via a QR code, with no login on the desktop. If you still need the file, just send it again from your phone.
Nothing lingers
